The Macaulay Morrison Centennial Reunion
August 5th and 6th, 2023 | Weekend Celebration
The sound of bagpipes could be heard in Queen’s Park on Saturday, August 5th, as the Macaulay and Morrison families celebrated the 100th anniversary of their emigration to Canada. This event was the happy conclusion to nearly two years of planning. Family members came from Boston, Spokane, Montreal, Ontario, Vancouver Island and the greater Vancouver area to celebrate this event.

The celebration included highland dancers, races for the children, face painting, bagpipers, barbecue lunch and many happy reunions for family members. On display was a large format family tree poster that included all members of both the Macaulay and Morrison families. The activities on Saturday concluded with a lovely buffet dinner in the Centennial Pavilion attended by over 100 guests.

The celebration continued on Sunday with a special celebration mass at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, followed by a lunch in the church hall. The mass was celebrated by Fr. Neil Macaulay, who talked about the importance of family and working together to improve and enrich our lives in his homily. The weekend was an example of family cooperation and organization to celebrate this momentous occasion.
